MCHTC: Day 4 Passing The Torch

Morning Routine

The Tenki team arrived on Day 4 bright an early to prepare for the day ahead. As the students arrive they enjoy breakfast before a day full of training. Here is Dr. Andrew enjoying a nice cup of hot coffee provided by the kitchen staff of the Missionary Training Center.

Day four of the MCHTC brought another opportunity for the Rising Trainers to exercise their teaching skills by leading the classroom activities for the Champions. With several days of practice under their belt, the Tenki team had a chance to step back and observe their improvement.

Above we can see each of the Tenki team trainers giving some final words of encouragement and instruction to the Rising Trainers before they begin.

Each Tenki instructor watched closely to ensure the Rising Trainers did not miss any of the essential material the Champions were hearing for the very first time.

Lunch Break

Every day the Conference would break for about an hour to eat a hot lunch and prepare for the afternoon instruction. We’d like to thank the kitchen staff for preparing, transporting, and serving over 100 meals twice a day for 5 days straight! They did an incredible job.

After lunch, the new Champions took their OSCE practical skills assessments and the vast majority were successful in earning the scores needed to become certified!

We also bid a farewell to our partners from Canada, Suzi and Kari. Both of these nurses played an integral role in supporting Mariama and Amanda with the Champions throughout the week. We will miss you guys!

The first four days of the Conference were comprised of lectures, hands-on training, and skills assessments. By the end of the day, most of the participants had been successful in earning their certificate, but Day 5 will offer one final opportunity to retest for those who needed more practice.
